Back:
CO 80 sts with size 7 needles. Knit 1 row.Lace Panel: Rep the following 4 rows:
- Row 1: K3, YO, K2tog, YO, K1
- Row 2: P3, YO, P2tog, YO, P1
- Row 3: K3, YO, K2tog, YO, K1
- Row 4: P3, slip 1, K2tog, PSSO, P1 Rep the lace panel 12 times. Stockinette Stitch: Knit every row until the piece measures 12 inches from the CO edge.Armholes: BO 5 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Continue knitting in stockinette stitch for 7 inches.Shoulder Shaping: BO 13 sts at the beginning of the next 4 rows. BO the remaining sts.
Front:
Repeat the instructions for the back, but do not work the lace panel.
Sleeves:
CO 36 sts with size 7 needles. Knit 1 row.Lace Panel: Rep the following 4 rows:
- Row 1: K3, YO, K2tog, YO, K1
- Row 2: P3, YO, P2tog, YO, P1
- Row 3: K3, YO, K2tog, YO, K1
- Row 4: P3, slip 1, K2tog, PSSO, P1 Rep the lace panel 6 times. Stockinette Stitch: Knit every row until the piece measures 8 inches from the CO edge.Cap Shaping: Dec 1 st at the beginning of the next 6 rows. BO the remaining sts.
Assembly:
Sew the shoulder seams together. With right sides together, sew the sleeves to the armholes. Sew the side seams and sleeve seams. Add buttons to the front as desired.
Hat
Brim:
CO 104 sts with size 7 needles. Knit 1 row.Lace Pattern: Rep the following 4 rows:
- Row 1: K3, YO, K2tog, YO, K1
- Row 2: P3, YO, P2tog, YO, P1
- Row 3: K3, YO, K2tog, YO, K1
- Row 4: P3, slip 1, K2tog, PSSO, P1 Rep the lace pattern 12 times. BO loosely in knit stitch.
Crown:
CO 64 sts on size 6 needles. Knit 1 row.Dec Row: K2, *K2tog, K1; rep from * around. Rep the dec row every other row until 8 sts remain. BO the remaining sts.
Finishing:
Weave in ends. Sew the crown to the brim. Embellish the hat as desired.
