Fantastic Four is an American superhero team appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The team was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and first appeared in Fantastic Four #1 (November 1961). The Fantastic Four are Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and Thing.
Publication history
Fantastic Four was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1961. The team first appeared in Fantastic Four #1 (November 1961),which was published by Marvel Comics. The series was a success, and ran for 347 issues until it was cancelled in 1996. Fantastic Four was revived in 1998, and has been published monthly since then.
Characters
The Fantastic Four consists of four main characters:
- Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) is the leader of the Fantastic Four. He is a brilliant scientist and inventor, and has created many of the team's gadgets and vehicles.
- Invisible Woman (Susan Storm) is Mr. Fantastic's wife. She has the ability to turn invisible and create force fields.
- Human Torch (Johnny Storm) is Mr. Fantastic's brother-in-law. He has the ability to fly and generate flames.
- Thing (Ben Grimm) is Mr. Fantastic's best friend. He is a rock-like creature with superhuman strength and durability.
Villains
The Fantastic Four have faced many villains over the years, including:
- Doctor Doom is the Fantastic Four's arch-nemesis. He is a brilliant scientist and sorcerer, and has often tried to conquer the world.
- Galactus is a cosmic entity who consumes planets. He is one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
- Annihilus is a warlord from the Negative Zone. He has often invaded Earth in an attempt to conquer it.
- Skrulls are a race of shapeshifters who have often impersonated the Fantastic Four and tried to sabotage their missions.

Fantastic Four is one of the most popular and influential comic book series of all time. The team has been featured in numerous films, television shows, and video games. The Fantastic Four have also been parodied and homaged in many other works of popular culture.
